Report something on the site

The quickest way to report a member is the Report button at the bottom of their profile. You can also use Report this ring on a ProfiRing's page, and Report on a player's card in the Plaza. Reports go to a person, not an automatic filter, and the member you report is never told who reported them. The reasons you can choose are:

• Appears to be under 18
• Grooming, sexual exploitation or coercion
• Harassment or abuse
• Fake profile or impersonation
• Inappropriate photos or content
• Spam or scam
• Something else

Reporting doesn't block anyone. If you don't want contact with someone, use Block too: it ends any fellowship and stops messages and fellow requests in both directions.

Not a member, or can't use the button? Email [email protected] with a link to the profile (or the username) and what happened.

Harassment, threats or unwanted contact

Report the member with the reason "Harassment or abuse" and block them if you'd like the contact to stop. Your conversation stays readable after a block or after a fellowship ends, and it helps us see what happened. If something happened somewhere else on the site, say where and when in the report's details.

Grooming, sexual exploitation or coercion

Report the member with the reason "Grooming, sexual exploitation or coercion", even if you aren't sure; you don't need proof. This includes someone building trust in order to exploit, pressuring someone to share intimate images, blackmail with images, or offering money or gifts for sexual contact. If a minor may be involved, or someone is at risk of harm, also contact the police, and email us with "Urgent" in the subject line: [email protected].

Sexual images of anyone under 18

Never download, screenshot, forward or share them, not even to report them: doing so may itself be a crime. Report the account on the site, email us with where you saw the material ([email protected]), and report it to the police or to the internet hotline in your country. INHOPE lists hotlines around the world; in the United States, use NCMEC's CyberTipline. We remove such material, close the account, and report it to the authorities.

Impersonation and fake profiles

Report the member with the reason "Fake profile or impersonation". If someone is using your name or photos and you aren't a member, email [email protected] with a link to the profile and something that shows the photos or identity are yours. We use that only to deal with the report.

An account that may belong to someone under 18

Handmade Hearts is for adults only. Report the member with the reason "Appears to be under 18"; you don't need proof, just tell us what makes you think so. We may restrict the account straight away while we look into it, and close it if it belongs to a minor. Parents and guardians can also email [email protected].

What happens after a report

A person reads every report. To understand what happened, we may look at the reported content, including the messages involved. Depending on what we find, we may remove content, restrict features, suspend an account, close it permanently, and, where appropriate and lawful, pass serious matters to the authorities. To protect everyone's privacy we may not be able to tell you exactly what we did. Reports are kept as safety records (see the Privacy Policy). Please don't make false or malicious reports, and never retaliate against someone for reporting in good faith.
